Been working my butt off all winter trying to find some good ground. Working for the Postal Service and talking to lots of customers at work. Finally got onto some private property and got me a little honey hole. 2 hours down on the creek today....

$20-$30 maybe? Not really worth selling it in small amounts, better to stockpile a few ounces and sell it all

You definitely have you a nice spot. I do a little bit of prospecting up here in Shasta and Trinity County. I found a pretty good bench 2 years ago that i work now and then. The gold is locked in hard-pan that sits on ancient river-bed. I have to run it in a mixer for 30 minutes to bust it up before i classify and sluice it. It ain't producing like your spot though. If you classified enough material to only run 3 buckets for that, that's pretty dang good. Looks like you are going to be in for a treat when you reach bedrock.

Nice color!
I've got access to a spot; Confluence of Silver Creek and South Fork of American River.
Last fall I worked to install some stream gauging equipment at this point.  We had a trail built to get down there.  It's about 45 minute hike in and twice that to get back out.  Over 1200 vertical foot climb.  However, my bet is that it's not been touched in over 150 years.  Behind a locked gate too, so safe to leave the vehicles parked as you go in.  Here's a google-earth photo of the site.  The access road is at the top of the page.

I have some gear; metal detector, classifier, sluice, pans, etc.  But I do not have much experience.  If interested, let me know and we'll head out there!!

I talked to a guy up here that mixes black sand and sand then throws a few flakes into it and puts it into a jar and sells it on the internet. He says people buy it. He gets like $50 for a few flakes that way. Lists it on Ebay as guaranteed gold bearing material from the motherlode.  :smt005

I have a friend who does this, but legitimately. He used to make really good money, but he stopped doing it and starting hanging onto his gold.

I wouldn't mind poking around in some different ground this spring/summer. A lot of my favorite spots have too much run off. There is not a creek in my area that doesn't have color, but nothing like today.

I have 2 spots on Melones that you have to take a boat, but you can find some nice size pieces, but they are far and few between. But worth it when you do
