I plan on pouring all my saltwater stuff with a heavy duty plastic, intended for abuse by larger fish. I don't know though. All i can do is try it out i guess. The upper section of the tentacles are fairly thick. I "weld" it together pretty solid. This is actually a 10 piece item that i put together to form 1 bait. I have a feeling it will work. I'm going to rig it and have a vid of it's action up soon.

Would love to see a video of the "killer bait" in action!  Thanks in advance GrimKeeper.

Dark redish brown, and I think on a bait like that the tentacles would need to be really flexible to get the right action, so it looks like you got it pretty well setup now.

Nice octo dude. Just curious but how are you planning on rigging it with the weight and hook? Great looking specimen regardless. :smt004

I cored the underside of it, so basically the "head"of the bait is hollow. I'm thinking most  jigheads will fit up inside with the eye poked up through the top of it and hook poked through the rubber. I'm thinking hook through the top, detach the hook. Put hook and whatever weight on a split ring and then pull the hook and sinker up into the body. Put the hook point up through the back. Going to make a vid shortly. Hopefully i can make it work.

The lead head idea sounds actaully really good. No barb would be necessary so the standard heavy jig head molds would work. I like to keep it simple. :smt003

The bottom hook/ pull through idea sounds good too actually and I always like a free swinging hook. Had an idea last night about possibly just poking the eye of something like a cannon ball weight through the top of the cavity and rigging it assist hook style too. Lots of good options it seems. Great lure again man.
