Are Octopus Good Bait?

I just finished a prototype for a finesse 10-12 inch soft body Octopus. I cored out the inside so it will accommodate up to 10oz. or so of weight. I was thinking a nice slow crawl along a crevice ridden grotto. What do you guys think?

I think i cant wait to get one in the mail!!!!

Octopus can change their color almost instantaneously. I wonder if the ones you see in the stomachs of lings and at the super market is the color that they change to when dead?

The octopus in the picture was alive and brown in color.

They are pretty freaky. While scuba diving once someone put an octopus on a chartreuse tank during a night dive. It turned chartreuse in a couple of seconds......truly amazing. I would experiment with colors just like any other artificial.

I would try that for pacific halibut.  It is real similar to color to the frozen ones they sell for the commercial guys.  Ling too ofcourse.

This is the color of every octopus ive seen alive an have all caught big fish for me lol

Definitely Ling and Cabbie killer but will the tentacles tough enough to "survive" a Ling attack?
