Eric , I don't know what exactly set you off, but i believe you are one of the nicest, most generous and easy going guys i have met. So when you speak of leaving NCKA, I think someone must have stepped pretty hard on your toes. Please try not to let it get to you. If you weren't a dodger's fan i would give you a hug.

I agree with most of what everybody else has said. There is going to lots of differences, politically, racially, religion, and simple moral values, with a group of this size. There is a saying: "the people closest to you are the ones that hurt you the most." The NCKA community we loose if you nwere to leave! I am not able to make all your get togethers, but every one that I did make was GREAT!!

Then I can probably do the most damage to you here! :smt044 :smt044

For friendship sake, I will keep my opinions to myself; but I hear and fully understand you concerns. You have always been a good friend and a promoter of great events; please do not let issues like this bitter you abilities to continue doing what you do best...

You've done so much in terms of putting on numerous tourney every year, I personally would hate if you leave us. I know that a lot of us here totally enjoy every tournament you put together and for that I thank you. You're a good guy in my book Eric. Please don't go anywhere.

Eric, thanks for sharing your experience. I find this sort of frank discussion a tremendous asset in a group dynamic. I suspect (and hope) that you airing your concerns will sooth some of your feelings and promote a greater sense of community among the rest of us. So hang in there you may have just solved the very problem that vexed you.

Thanks again,

Eric

NCKA is a family and like all families far from perfection. What keeps us together is mutual respect and friendship. In this regard, we are second to none. Yes I share many of your concerns, but the hard discussions help us evolve. At the end of the road, we will still be the premier kayak fishing group. We have very much appreciated the FW events you have organized and will miss you if you choose to leave, however I choose to stay with NCKA and evolve the art and science of kayak fishing in NORCAL. I have made friendships for a lifetime on this site and will be here until God calls my time.

Eric;  Among all the awesome people I've met here in NCKA you are at the top of the heap. I respect your honesty and know your integrety is beyond repoach. NCKA has benefited a lot from your gift of time and resource you share with us. I (of course) hope the Yakhopper Fishing Events continue, and truly respect the effort you and your family make hosting such a commitment. I know you origionaly started them so that you "would have someone to fish with". Count me among your life long friends and will fish with you anytime. My hand gesture to you is two thumbs up.

I'm saddened to hear this, I started kayak fishing with you in '05 or '06??? either doesn't matter, it was a long time ago, and I think of you as a good friend.  As far as I am aware, we are all allowed our opinions, at least I hope so.  I know my opinions can be off mark often, but I still have them...  As far as politics or drugs, well, thats going to be like booze and water; every one I know has an opinion based on taste and smell, so why sweat it?

Sorry something got under your skin like this, but I hope you will stay with NCKA.

wow, I am reading your statement and thinking, what the hell happen and who and why would someone disrespect you?
then i though, you know what, friend do upset friends every now and then, but you get pass that if there are really your friend. my opinion may not mean anything to you since I have only met you a few times, but I am in NCKA due to one of your events, I attended to ARW in 2011 and I was treated so good by everyone there that I wanted to be part of it, since then I have made some great friendships and I thank you for making it possible.
I was talking to Bret (NOSOUP4U)a couple of days ago and we were saying that we wanted to attend all the fisherman warehouse events because they are fun, it feels good to fish with so many people that you have  that passion in common, for the record i have been a client of F W sac store for over 14 years, yeah the prizes are great but the energy is even better and you and your family make it possible.
I think many NCKA brothers and sisters should see your point, discuss whatever issue is upsetting you cause if it is upsetting you its possibly upsetting someone else too, try to find a solution to improve the issues then hug it out.
either way, thank you what you have done to bring some of this group together.

Sorry to see the emotions flying been away for a few days. Guess I must have missed something. I have never met any of you except the few that came to the Cambria slam down we had here. From the posts that I have read from yakhopper seems down to earth to me. As far as politics go you have to be real good friends and when your done say here lets fish and have a beer. Life is too short to let things we can't control, ruin a friendship. I made myself a promise to do at least a NCKA event this year.
