It's not collapsible, but my goto nets these days are the Ego telescoping nets: http://www.egos2slider.com/

I'm with Jay, that is what I have (and also posted a link too) and really like it.  I actually special ordered mine directly from them and have the 18" to 36" handle, large 19" X 21" hoop size, and the deep rubber mesh net.

this is the net i use, had it for 3 years now. it telescopes to transport and is ok at not snagging hooks.

I've got one of these just taking up space that I'd be willing to part with.  Used less than a half dozen times.

Is this a good model?  I plan to use it mainly for fresh water. Thanks everybody for all your great advice.

That is definitely the handle although it's a different net.  Hard to tell though if it's the same size hoop.

I had the same issue when I was trying to purchase mine.  I knew exactly what I wanted but had a hard time verifying it with wherever it was being sold and thus the reason I ultimately ordered directly from EGO.  If you're not as picky as I am, that should do the trick.

This net along with the ego slider are nets you take on the ocean to be "legal" and are good for small to medium size fish. I bent the handle on it on an 18# salmon last summer. Then there are big salmon, big halis and giant lings where this net is worthless. So when I am salmon fishing or fishing the north coast, I bring the biggest sturdiest net I own. Don't go to a gun fight with a knife.

I stopped by West Marine San Carlos yesterday and tried this specific model, its the only one they had.
I brought a Rapala J9 with me and put it inside and shook it around a few times.
The trebles got tangled around the mesh, no fun taking them off.  This ain't the right model for me.

Yeah, that is no good.

The hoop/net I have is at the bottom of this page on the left if you scroll all the way down.  That is NOT my handle though.  The net is so deep that I'd most likely use it on salmon as I have no other options.  Is it ideal for ocean use, no, but it would work and make me legal.
