i did a cold morning dive. it was 29 when i left home and everything was frosty. i was contemplating not going but ended up convincing my self to go. it was a miserable suit up. the water was so cold that while adjusting my gopro head strap i got instant brain freeze. my cressi 7mm kept me nice and warm though. the spot i dove usually hold a good amount of fish but with the recent big swell it was like a ghost town. i was wedging into caves after bugs but almost all were short. i lucked out and found one out in the holding on to a rock in the surge.  any way here is the video!

Way to get out there on that cold morning. I would have shot that sheep head if I were you.

Sheep head is very good eating if you know how to prepare them.

It is a common misconception that they are not good eating. :smt002

there are plenty of good sized urchins down here if thats your thing. i really dont like sheephead i have shot a few and only really had some ok ceviche from it. i didnt really want or need 20+ lbs of ceviche at the moment. i still have half a 20lber sitting in my freezer. i say a solid 30+ lber on my last lobster dive and had to fight myself to not shoot it.

Yeah the first time my wife made it she butchered it and it came out mushy. So I passed them up for many years. Then I decided to let my father in law have a crack at preparing one. I don't pass them up anymore  :smt003

I actually had some left over sheap head steaks for lunch today and thought of you  :smt001
