Just wondering which one is better? Ive been using power pro because its cheaper and more popular. But I heard that Daiwa Samurai braid is thinner and better, but a little more money. Anyone have some insight for me? Thanks appreciate it! -miles

I have switched from the 4 carrier braids like powerpro to the 8 carrier braids like samurai and have not looked back. They are more expensive, but they flow smoother and cast further than the 4 carrier braids. I use 70-80lb test for frogs and big baits. I started off with 55-65lb braids, but as I began to cast harder, I found myself snapping off too many baits. I still occasionally snap off baits, but only when Im really trying to whip it out there.  I have tried other 8 carrier braids such as suffix 832 and powerpro super 8 slick, but daiwa samurai is my go-to braid.

I've been slowly switching over to Samurai over the past year. It casts like a dream... Though it is prone to snapping, I find this to be only when the line is dry and I backlash with a heavy lure (there are a few SP Minnows floating out there). I wet my line first by dripping some water on the spool.
I use 20lb on my bait casting reels for in the bay, 30lb in the surf, 50lb for WSB.

I've got 55lb Samurai on both my Avet SX's and like it. Smooth and strong.
