I'm heading to the carribean tomorrow and bringing a swimbait rod and curado 300. Anyone familiar with the south Caribbean and what I can catch from shore just screwing around? What baits? I might try to rent a little kayak as well so I can get out further. I'm heading to Aruba, curaçao, la romana, and grand Turk. Thanks guys!

prior report from the north carib, but maybe useful.  I'd bring a bait setup with breakaway terminal gear if you are shorebound = reefer madness!
At least in BVI, I've seen great cuda's within casting distance of shore, but more commonly wrasses and grouper and what not.  But who knows, maybe you'll be able to stick a rooster or snook on that swimbait.  In which case I think you'll be thankful to have the backbone and the curado.

Bring a chitload of bug spray and long light sleeve shirts!

Good luck man.  jealous

I say something like a gold or chrome casting spoon, maybe a topwater plug like a mirr-o-lure or floating rapala and a chrome/blue rattltrap.
