With the forum updates, I moved the column to the right and widened it.

With the changes I made to have the posters info above the posts, thus giving the post body more horizontal area, I think I can move the column back to the left without affecting post reading usability.

I'm going to leave the right column for today, then move it back to the left tomorrow, at which point I'll add a poll to vote.  I'm actually quite curious what the results will be.

Screen shot... In left dialog area... Big empty space next to  member info above post content? Just my computer or ? I like the layout as it is in the picture. See second picture... Arrow is area of big blank. How about random NCKA fish pictures or paid advertisers in this space. The unread (show) button would be great in position shown in 2nd picture

That's not how it appears to me or any of my test accounts.  What OS and Browser?

I wonder if the device ppl are reading it on will be a factor. The I pad may lend itself to more horizontal space since the keyboard pops up. I will use the site on both This version looks ok on the iPad

I kinda like it on the right but either way is fine with me.

My .02 is that I prefer the column on the right as I often read the page on an IPod and it works easier for me. I am just happy to have it available, so left or right column per the wishes of the group is fine!

Thanks Allen, your efforts are greatly appreciated!

New set-up looks like crap on my iPad.

Not feelin' the tiny avatars and the user area taking up half the screen.

I have a Gen 1 ipad (smallest resolution) and I don't see the user area taking up half the screen.  Are you seeing something different than me?

And the smaller avatars are to keep them from taking up half the screen.  You'd rather see more of my ugly mug than more of your user options?  Hah!

We were looking at the big halibut & not your 'ugly' mug. The small avatars suck.
