Troy,
Persistence pays off :smt002.  Congrat on the 1st halibut of the year!  I was there about two weeks ago.  Got blown out of the water after paddling over an hour to get to the end of the pier.  I was just about to give up on Berkley Pier until I saw your post.  You inspire me to try again.  Good job.

Eugene

Troy...U da Man!  Glad you had something to bring home today besides our usual tired stories...

I need to get my fish mojo right...I had a hali up to the side of the boat today but couldn't finish.

That's fishing!

way to go Troy!  I saw you out there and tried to hail you on the radio but ya didn't hear me.  I had a nice takedown on the right side of the pier ruins about 400 yards from the end of the fishing pier, the halibut let me get him up for a second then he made an attempt for the pilings, i pulled back and he in return pulled me in to the pilings.  I had to put my foot against a piling to keep from slamming and as i did the butt made another run straight down the middle of pilings, bye, bye :smt010, I rerigged and had another fish bite but didn't stick no less than 5 minutes after losing the other one.  same spot.  what a day, short and sweet for me though, i was on the water by 9 and off by 1230, not so rough but the wind can be a bitch sometimes. :smt012  nice to see the skunk is off Troy.  JTF..

WTG Troy!!!

To kill them (or at least calm them down) I think most people try to stun them a bit with a bat then get you knife out and cut there spinal cord right behind there head.
