Although I think 2011 was nicer to me than 2012, I gotta admit that 2012 was still really awesome for fishing.  A few of the highlights included my PB brown trout of 28.5 inches in January, an awesome Almanor landlocked Chinook bite in early spring, a monster 18 inch china rf and solid lings in the summer, some beautiful steelhead in the fall, and close encounters with spawning brown trout.
