A friend of mine is in Dubai and sat down for dinner in an upscale restaurant. He sent me a photo of the Menu.

According to XE.com 1 AED = 0.27 US

Nice to know that my table fair is the stuff of royalty but I can also understand why poaching is such a problem.

The menu is from a chinese restaurant called Hakkasan in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers.

I'd like to poach some of their recipes...for some reason braised ab with shiitake and scallop sauce sounds better than deep fried ab in bread crumb.

Btw Hakkasan just opened a restaurant here in SF a few weeks ago. Probably a better deal on the truffled whole abalone than their dubai location.
