I could use some help...   About a year ago my trailer was stolen.     Today I saw it going the opposite direction on Main Street in Watsonville.  I hung a U turn and followed it,,, stuck behind a truck and red light ahead, I watched it turn East on San Juan Rd.
I was on the phone with the CHP  An officer was driving the opposite direction as I gave him a description... but no luck.

This narrows it down to just outside Watsonville area.  maybe aromas.       I had it for nearly 30 years, would recognize it anywhere...    It's a dual axle,  12 X 5' bed,  two feet high sides.   The wheel fenders are square shaped.   It once was plywood sides and floor.  I replaced all that with sheetmetal, so the tell tale holes where plywood was bolted in are still there.   I also added 4' square channel between the frame and leaf-springs to raise it up higher.       Painted all black,  not a dump trailer...   Pontiac hubcaps.
They had a load in it with blue tarp,,, looks like might be headed to dumps in the morning.  I'll be watching !!!

New license on the trailer was  4MH5302
Looked like a nice new coat of paint,,, hope they put some new tires on it for me  :smt003

   Thanks guys.

Jim, hope you find your trailer!  Thieves suck.

But FWIW, since it has been a year, chances are that whoever is using it now probably purchased it stolen and may not even realize it.  We should be careful assuming that whoever is currently using it is the actual person who stole it.

I agree I bought a hot VW once. It was a 63 but I got to thinking about rear window size. So we checked it out. Yep stolden and had been pulled over several times and cops never caught on to it. I bought it from an older neighbor whom bought it for his son who didn't want it. so I bought it. my money was returned. The people who owned it wanted it back after 8 years. LOL

True Dat...        But I still want/need it back !      Would love to trace back to who took it.   By the way that guy ran the red light, I think he knew I was after him.

dilbeck has a good point. It might have been resold.
Ya never know.
My brother in law is a classic car crazy guy. He was at the Watsonville airshow this year with his 64 vette hanging out BSing with the other car crazy guys. There was aan old vette for sale for 30k, they were all kind of scratching their heads about that price. A cherried out vette, forgot the year, was worth a whole lot more.
Well, to make a long story short. This fellow was checking out the car. Looking it over really good, he opened the glove box, looked under the dash, lifted the floor mats etc etc. He stands up and says,"hey this is my buddys car that was stolen years a few years ago" The dude selling the car, his face turned BEET RED, there were some of Watsonvilles finest nearby, they cuffed the dude and the car went back to its rightful owner. The guy had switched the VIN plate with another car. But this guy had dome a lot of work on it for his buddy and saw some stuff on the car he recognized.
I like happy ending's ! :smt044

Also, it was a White,   full size pick-up with either a camper shell or  a large SUV  hauling it.

Ya never know,, enough eyes looking it may turn up !         I'm gonna stake out  the corner of San Juan,   wait to see if it goes by again...

Not many people have the opportunity to get back what was once theirs and by some luck, you happened to cross paths with the scumbag that may have stolen it or maybe just some unlucky guy who bought it unknowingly.  Either way, I hope you get your trailer back.

Good luck and let us know how things progress.

Did you file a report back when it was stolen?

YUP !      Stopped by CHP office today to check.    They said that lic plate is not registered to anyone,  they have no record for it.     Wierd,,, somebody had it once upon a time.

Could be a fake licence plate.  I'm now live close to Watsonville area so will keep an eye out for your trailer too.
