I just ran across this deal at Sport Chalet.  This reel is overkill for almost anything up here, maybe albacore.  Great deal though.

Right on Bones!   Thats a smokin deal in my opinion. Wouldnt have to upgrade after that purchase.

Sweet that saltiga is a badass reel. If you want to be proportionate with the reel I think a seeker Hercules 7' 15-30 is perfect, it's got a lot of backbone but has a nice soft tip to it; great jigging rod and SUPER light. Check it out. You can land 40lb albacore no problem on it. If you don't like a lighter rod consider a calstar 700L 15-30 or 700ml which both are a bit stiffer. Trevalas are nice however I think that reel will feel a little big on a trevala, just my opinion. If you have a chance and can get over to outdoor pro in Cotati, bring your reel over there and tell mike I sent you and have him show you a killer rod for it.

Reel came in yesterday! Fits perfect in my hand. Just what I was looking for. So this would my go to reel. Can cast, troll jig lighter stuff or the heavy cannon balls. That Penn I had was just to big.

You can't go wrong with a Saltiga.  I'm glad I could help.
