12/9 HMB Crab and Fish

Weather is looking good for Sunday, catch a few and still make it back for the games...who is in?  0730 out of HMBK

I'm in.  What kind of bait do you recommend for crabs?

What I have used in the past, chicken quarters, salmon bellies or heads (which ever is cheapest), and frozen squid.  Left over salt water fish carcasses seem to work well as well, the oilier the better.

Weather looks good. Thinking of going on Sat or Sun or may be both.

My brand new kayak is all rigged up and ready to go.  Maiden voyage and all that good stuff.  Was thinking of launching at Linda Mar, but this might be a better idea for the first trip. 

I'm down if anyone is thinking of fishing Saturday too.

NOAA is telling me this.

Sunday: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming NNW 5 to 8 kt in the morning. Sunny. Mixed swell...WNW 5 to 6 ft at 10 seconds and SW 1 ft at 14 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Sunday Night: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Mostly clear. Mixed swell...WNW 4 to 5 ft at 9 seconds and SW 1 ft at 14 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.

PolePole, not to argue, but this was on the Buoy forecast.  I know that is further out, but sure can make for a rough day inshore.

Squidder,  you're posting 10-60 miles.  That is often very different that nearshore (0-10).

If you look at the 0-10, it is,

Sun: N winds 5 to 15 kt. Wind waves 1 to 3 ft. NW swell 5 to 7 ft at 10 seconds.

Sun Night: NW winds 10 to 20 kt...becoming N 10 kt after midnight. Wind waves 3 to 5 ft. NW swell 4 to 6 ft at 9 seconds.
