The bite is on, a handful of keeper Sturgeon have been landed in the past few days and with the past storms it seems like all the critters are all stirred up. We had several sharks, rays, skates, and a nice 24" Striper all landed yesterday off the pier. No Sturgeon were caught yesterday but with all the competition for food I think it will take a little luck that a Sturgeon finds your bate first. Todays afternoon outgoing tide looks like a good one and starts about 2:30 pm here, but remember we close at 5 pm. McNears (and all other Marin County Parks) are free entrance fees all month so come out to your favorite park and wet a line, see some of you on December 9th for the Sturgeon derby, tight lines,

Now that's a ranger worth his salt...
McNears is one sweet spot on a sunny Fall/Winter day. I have yet to fish it from my Yak.

Thanks Jim!

Thanks Jim
It was good to see you yesterday. My day was just bat rays and then after no fish a rotten sea lion surfaces and shakes a big striper in my face! The humiliation!
