There was a day I had to jack my truck up and hit the show circuit.  Then I got into salt water fish tanks.  Both, will drain your wallet.  To date, I've enjoyed kayaking fishing because once you have the kayak and associated gear - you're done - right?  NO - I have Jackson fever!  Introducing the Jackson Cruise!  Dammit - I want one of these too!   :smt044

Take note on the black dots next to the peddle assembly and seat.  No doubt - Ram ball mounting points.

We had the Jackson Rep at Headwaters Adventure Co in Redding today and this was one of the boats we talked about. its new for 2013 and slated as a recreation kayak. It does have the inserts for the ram balls like the cuda and coos. It is priced around $900. Pretty good option if you need to get a boat for your wife but don't need a cuda, or a "brother-in-law-boat"

I didn't ask. Maybe Dan will have more info tomorrow when he meets with the rep.

Ok - last question - hopefully Dan can find out if unknown - is the hull flat as it is in the Cuda?

Met with the Rep Yesterday and asked him questions about the Cruise.

This kayak is meant to be a simple version of the Cuda 12. For the Husband and wife couple where he wants a Cuda fishing kayak and she may not need all the bells and whistles but still wants the comfortable seat. The kayak the same base as the Cuda 12. They added a larger tankwell with two more scuppers to drain. It comes with 4 threaded inserts for rigging with Ram products. It has the high low seat. There is no option for a ruddered version. There is a flat surface in the front for mounting a fish finder, and it doubles as a nice place for a kid to sit facing the paddler. The clean deck will probably make it a popular option for those who fly fish. All the great stand up stability and seat, but nothing to get your line caught on.

I'm super excited to get the kayak in. I think it will sell really well for us. $899 is going to be MSRP which puts it in the likes of the Tarpon 120 Manta RAy 12 and OK Prowler 11.

Here is a picture that was posted up of the kayak today on Drew Gregory's Facebook Page.

Thanks for the update Dan.  The simplicity is what drew my attention; then the large tank well; then the RAM mounting locations.  Looks like a great rig to throw on the car to hit local lakes.  Save the Cuda for the salt.
