I've never used either, personally.  I just got my iphone 5 but will be getting a LP case before Kauai in March, but hopefully won't test it to the point of failure hahaha.

I sure wish they would make a Lifeproof for the the Galaxy SIII.  I don't trust my Otterbox defender, plus it is super bulky.

I take my iPhone crabbing and fishing with me with lifeproof and the armband. I wouldn't think of doing it with the otter. Plus the otter I had didn't even last a year before falling apart.

I got lucky and got in on the first round of them for the iPhone 5. So far I am happy with mine.

I have an Otterbox for my 3gs and even though bulky it has preformed very well, ( do need to upgrade soon for sure) but my wife has the Lifeproof case on her 4s and she cracked her screen on a relatively small drop. Will need to research more on this for sure.

I've had my life proof case for te iphone 5 for a couple weeks now......it sucks. The case screen doesn't contact the phone screen in a couple spots and its made my phone useless.  (I can't hang up my phone cause the end call button doesn't work due to the lack of contact.)

Every time I call an get voicemail or use an automated line I literally have to take the case apart to hang up.  I'm waiting to hear back from tech support on whether i can warranty it.

Otterbox has a new case coming out next month....I'll be switching of life proof doesn't take care of me on this one.

They didn't fix it but I took it back to best buy and the swapped it out for me no questions asked. 

I have no idea what the hell any of you guys are talking about.
