Is this a Thru Hull Transducer?

this transducer comes with a humminbird i want to buy. I just want to make sure this is a thru hull one. Wasnt sure if you can put that facing down to the hull

No, that is a transom mount, you can use it to "shoot thru" your hull by gluing it face down inside the yak but then the temp function would be meaninless.  If you're gonna buy one, search around a little more for the right one.

temp isnt really to accurate on any in haul tho gotta mount it in the water to work

It will work shooting thru the hull as stated. In a water bath or glued in. The temp function will not be accurate a stated also. I've used that one for a long time now. I just switched to the puck style with external temp so I have accurate temp. The temp unit comes out of my yak and then back in a scupper hole. Works great. I don't think any HB units come with that transducer. They all come with the one you show. Or the SI, DI, Quad beam etc.

It will work fine shooting thru the hull in Tarpon. Temp will be off, that is all that will happen. You can buy the puck like I have for $59 at Fisherman's Warehouse if temp is a big deal to you. Also, the darker the boat the higher the temp will read when it is hot out with in hull.

Ok thanks rob and every1 else. Prob just deal with the temp being off until i decide to buy the right transducer.

Cheap and simple. Then probably upgrade later on.

I have a Humminbird 565 in my Trident with a glued puck (thru hull) and I have it dial down about 4.5 - 5 degrees. The temp adjustment is in the advance settings of the fishfinder.I have checked it with others around me with scupper trans and on several occasions mine has been within a degree or so of theirs (summer or winter).

That works to some extent, but mine on a hot day would swing 10 plus degrees as the day went on. Winter time is ok. Only would change 1-2 at most. Maybe because of the dark green like I was saying before.

My lime green yak does not temp swing nearly as much as my dark one.

you can also transducer exchange with humminbird - they do the exchange for free but you have to pay to ship to them.  as long as the transducer is new and not installed.

supposedly lowrance has the same program but i've never tried it.
