So I have a suburban and am trying to figure out the best way to transport my pro angler. I would like to be able to put it on the roof solo (I have factory z71 rack) and have only seen the $250 rhino t loader as an option. Anyone have cheaper better ideas? I can fit it inside the suburban with the back seats down but need to keep the back cargo door open because it still hangs out about 3 feet. Just wanna figure out the best secure way to transport this and be able to load and unload by myself. Thanks everyone.

That's not going to be easy.  I modified a PWC trailer for mine;

[Once I rigged my PA, it would have been hard to put on a roof without unloading everything every time.  Now it's just a couple minutes to launch.

I really like the H bar.  I have bad knees and probably couldn't use a kayak without it.  Makes it easy to pee too!  Ha!!

I found my trailer on craigs list.  A guy bought a second jet ski for his girl friend and got a dual trailer so he sold the single.  I think I paid $500 for it, but it was like brand new.

 Have 2 small boat trailers... $100-200.00 might sell one :smt005
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I'm using Thule Hullavator on my Excursion. I still have to lift it about 5 feet to load / unload. If I were to do this over I would get a trailer. The other problem the rack created is vertical clearance. It's between 10 to 11 feet now. If I don't watch the trees in my neighborhood, I'll loose the kayak.

That's one tough job even for two guys to top a pa on a suburban. I used to friggin hate helping dune12 cartop his old pa onto his 4runner... They're just way too heavy.

You can get a pretty decent trailer at harbor freight. I'm sure they have a sale this weekend.  Either way get a twenty percent coupon from the Sunday paper and go when they have a weekend sale.

The AI hull is pretty heavy and I can load it on my SUV alone using the hully rollers. I have hullivators too but the heavy boats are hard to get into the saddles when you have a SUV.

That is the problem I'm running into. It's just that last loading up after a day on the lake that is getting me.

I carry my 14' PA on top of a post WWll 1/4 ton Bantam "Jeep" trailer.  The trailer has 11" of clearance and is pretty much bullet proof.  An added bonus is all the extra room in the trailer for gear, especially when camping.  I am no spring chicken and I lift the PA over 5' to load it on the trailer.  I used to use 6 Yakima Mako Shark saddles but they were leaving dents in the PA's hull so I switched to 4" black ABS pipe, after a while the dents eventually went away on their own.  The PA is stored on the trailer.

i have a 07 4runner 4x4 so it should be about the same hight.i put yakima rail grabbers with 58" bars.and i bought the boatloader bar that plugs into the rack bars.this way i load it myself.its not my favorite way to transport it but if i had to car top it this is the way to go.i got the whole setup on ebay for 220.00.but like skipro i use my trailer most.i only cartop when i cant bring my trailer.if you go on youtube and lookup loading a pa youll get alot of great ideas
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

My old shoulders hurt just looking at the subject line. I to hate having to solo load my AI in my bed racks on the F150.

Good golly, I'm gone for a few short months and everybody has upgraded to the AI.  You, BMB, and the list goes on!
