i tried to call in sick today so i can head out into the local shallows , waters real glassy and the tides were good...my boss shut that shit down real quick  haha. my plan was to use some barbless hooks to get a head start on things , maybe catch a shaker or too....those aerial assaults are scaring me too though :smt009

im leaning more towards grabbing the tail...with a glove of course. thats if hes too big too net .
I'm digging that idea but once I hook up I'll let you know if it works :smt002

I can't imagine landing dino to kayak by grabbing tail - I had once to grab dino tail in order to bring my catch to shore and it was hard. My son still telling his friends about it.
I think big net is the way to go.

Exactly, the barbless hooks are the biggest worry. Jumping, and the roll they do when they are tired. It's gonna be tough. And for real people, don't let those slimy prehistoric bastards fool you, sometimes they go ape when they see they yak, or when they get on the yak. I ripped a big hole in my Kokatat pants from a Sturgeon who played it cool until he got on the boat. Andy, let's get a jump on the barbless! Hit me up!

When I went out with sledge we snared his hog and it went ape shit in the boat and tail slaped my jaw , busted lip and had me all light headed
