I bought and returned it back to Costco.  Takes awful pictures.  I now use a Pentax Optio WG-1 14MP and absolutely love it.
Costco has a no question ask return policy.

I have that model and a few of the previous models in that line.  They do tend to have random problems, but for the most part they work and take a beating.

I have that camera. I think I paid $10 more at Costco and it came with a floating strap, memory card and a case. It's an ok camera. Not great. Take two pics of everything, one will be in focus.

+1 on the pentax... I love their cameras.  My dslr is one of theirs, and I have the wg1 in my kayak box.  Takes really good pictures.  Waterproof, will take a serious beating, and will do video as well...

I have this camera and hate it. The lighting never seems to be right and it seems 1 out of 10 photos turn out okay. I used to use my playsport for stills too and I think it takes better basic  photos.

GoPros cannot do certain things as well as a P&S camera, and P&S cameras can't do certain things as well as a GoPro.  I have an olympus that has been running strong for two years, but picture quality is iffy.  The fujifilm cameras are not great for picture quality either.  Canon or Pentax would be my preference for my next camera.

I have the Olympus "Tough" for years and love it.  Whatever you decided to buy, wait until this coming "Black Friday" and look for great deals!

+1.  If you want to take stills, you need a camera.  If you want to shoot video, you need a video camera.  Everything does both nowadays, but nothing really does both very well.
