Trinidad

Our family will be renting a cabin with another family up in Trinidad for the long weekend before Thanksgiving.  I probably won't be bringing dive gear but will bring rods.  We plan on some beach combing, mushroom foraging, and fishing.  Any recommendations for easy to reach spots would be appreciated. 

When does recreational crab open up there?  I've done a search and it looks like Trinidad harbor is fairly calm.  I would like to do that if we can pack the gear, but that might be too much of a squeeze.

Fishing is off the shore only. Boat based angling is closed for most everything.  Crab is open and we've been pulling easy limits within a five minute paddle of the launch.
