If He'd lost the charger, usb cord and software with it, it might have been a different matter.  Thanks Jim.  We found some links to his side business of SUP lessons and tried to connect.

Hi Everyone!  I'm Jeff, the dude from the video.  I can't believe this thing actually turned up.  I lost it a while back, early summer I think!  I posted an ad on Craigslist but didn't get any hits.  I went back the day after I lost it at low tide hoping to get lucky, but nada.  I figured either some one picked it up or it was lost for good.  I would sure like to hear when and where it was found.  Was it just found recently?  Funny thing is that a good friend just asked me yesterday if I ever found my GoPro!  I pretty much forgot about it until yesterday!  Crazy.

Here's the story, I went out to Doran.  It was very rough that day, big swells but figured I would give it a go.  Going out through the white water I got caught inside and went over the falls and got thrashed, my hat, go pro and paddle all went flying.  I found my paddle nearly washed up on the beach and I felt terrible that my GoPro was a goner.  I really hated to spend the $ but went out and bought a new camera, kicking myself the whole time.

I can't believe this thing actually turned up, I'm shocked.  I'm also deeply moved that so many people worked so hard to find me and contact me.  What a fantastic group of people!  One guy mentioned he takes a pic of his contact info and leaves it on the camera.  What a great idea!  I'm going to do that from now on.  You guys are awesome.

To the fine gentleman that has my camera, please give me your address so I can pick it up.  I would like to offer you a reward for your kindness, I really, really appreciate it!!  Please tell me where and how you found it.  If you snagged it while fishing, that would be eipic!

Great first post Jeff.
It's difficult to explain to an outsider how this group rolls. Actually. it pretty unbelievable.
Glad to see that someone outside of the group got to witness it first hand.
Now that you're an insider I hope you decide to stick around.
If you get a chance to post a pic of the housing so we can see the abuse it took over the time spent on the sea floor that would be great.

I was playing with the AI near first the day use area from the park entrance.  My wife Irene found the camera in a pile of seaweed just out of the surf line near the tent camping across from the boat ramp.  Camera looks in good shape.  Wide angle lens is of course toast.  A few barnacles and eel grass .
