Thank you to all who have served or who are serving or who have family members who are. :smt001

Many Americans mistakenly believe that Veterans Day is the day America sets aside to honor American military personnel who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained from combat. That's not quite true. Memorial Day is the day set aside to honor America's war dead.
Veterans Day, on the other hand, honors ALL American veterans, both living and dead.
In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for dedicated and loyal service to their country. November 11 of each year is the day that we ensure veterans know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in their lives to keep our country free.

As a Vet, I would like to thank the members of NCKA who give a damn!  From Danglin who goes far out of his way to run HOW, to the guys who support him at each event.  The outpouring from a small club is amazing!  I have seen clubs do things before, but never with the sincerity and genuine concern at the level that NCKA does.  When you go to a HOW event you would think it was some sort of Bass Master tournament with big bucks at stake, there is such a show of particpation, and people going out their way to help out our wounded warriors. Instead of prize money, we deliver smiles not just to those who are injured, but to ourselves knowing we are better people for what we do.  It doesn't end there either, with what this club does for Pay it Forward, clean up an area, bringing in new members and not making them feel shunned due to their lack of expertise takes huge intestinal fortitude.  Speaking for myself,  I am humbled by being a member here.  You guys take this to a level that I have never seen else where.  To all of you I return that salute with pride!

I never served but a lot of my family has.  I've always gone out of my way to hire combat vets whenever possible.

Another vote of thanks.
