Survived the hurricane last night.  Luckily only had minor damage, but next door had their roof ripped off by the wind.
A friend of mine on the shore took a  pic of downtown Ocean City.
check out the second pic. of the shark swimming down main street. (looked legit when sent to me) :smt044
Really wish I was back in Cali.

Glad you're OK.

Man, everytime I start thinking I want to go back to Ocean City it gets wrecked!

And that shark pic is bad ass!

*D'oh! Looks like the shark pic is a fake.

No kidding... friends from NYC and the surrounding area have pictures online of boats littering the streets... crazy stuff.

Having been thru Hurricane Ivan & Katrina while living on the Panhandle of Florida ... they are no laughing matter.  The cleanup efforts and rebuilding will take years.

Thanks for replies.
Definitely no laughing matter.  This was probably one of the most stressful nights of my life. felt like  being in an earthquake for 6 + hours. Water is one thing but the power of 100mph winds is just grueling. Very sad to see the devastation in the morning.

Even a worse feeling when you are inside of a boarded up house with no view of the outside to see what's going on.

Happy to hear you made it through the worst part.
I hope having to deal with the aftermath doesn't prove to be too challenging.
I'm sure there's going to be a whole different vibe in that area for quite some time.

2nd day after the hurricane.
looking outside, the cars are back on the streets, and hearing non stop tree cutting all morning. Hopefully the electricity gets back on grid soon. Luckily I have a generator.  All of lower manhattan from 42 street down is out and most of New Jersey and sourounding cities are out.
Talked with a friend down on the shore.  all of thier 3 buisinesses, houses, and cars are underwater.  He was still possitive and said that they were lucky  Sandy hit after the summer season, unlike last years Irene. They've been getting around in their kayaks.
Thanks for the replies.  Good luck on the crabs! :smt006
