If I walk up to your camp site with my kid, and your stuffing your face with donuts, please put them away or do it somewhere else, or I'll call the medics in, sugar makes me very uncomfortable.

LMFAO!!!!!

Looking forward to diving with you on Sunday buddy. Gonna be fun.

I'm with you on this, I know its really hard as well.  I lost 70 pounds in 2011, but in the last 2 months of my wifes pregnancy and first month with the now boy, I put 35 back on :(  now I'm trying hard to get that back off, but am not doing very good.  I'm the cook here, the wife is home, I have this stupid bum ankle that limits my mobility and I make what she wants to eat,

yesterday she refused healthy food at home and begged for carls jr.  I got a plain chicken sandwich and ate 10 fries, but still way over what I want.  Then apple hill was teh nail in the coffin with an apple turnover (DELISH!!) and a couple bites of cake...I guess I am just a lot mentally weaker than I was in 2011...

at least I had an apple and steel cut oats for breakfast.

Though the boy has his lifejacket, he still cant hold his head up, so I'm not comfortable taking him on the yak just quite yet, and I can only walk about a mile before ankle starts throbbing...  gonna have to find something to do with him in tow while getting exercise.

Oah yeah, the pot-lucks are so awesome, but I just go back for more.  Perhaps I stress eat (still no job) and the NCAK crowd makes me so comfortable I just go for it...

Wow, thats a lot of excuses.  Time to go fish I think.  At least the wife is taking Henry on a play date this afternoon and I can get out for a little while  :)

Peace

whiny Jim

you are my idol.  I know what I am supposed to eat, I just fail regularly.

my biggest fear is that someday my medical records and my grocery loyalty card are merged.  When that happens the check out person looks at me and says, " I'm sorry sir, your doctor has restricted you, I cannot let you buy this ice cream."

Big brother diet.  It would work though...

I have the same problem. Gained a bunch of weight from meds like prednisone and it's hard to get off.

Stay away from processed foods.  That shit will kill you.

While I do not have traditional diabetes I do have gestational diabetes. I have found this experience to be very difficult to adjust to. I am in love with carbs and sugar. Unfortunately I am unable to eat those things now and I am going to do my best to continue eating healthier after pregnancy as well. Now mind you since I do not have full blown diabetes yet I will get to occasionally indulge in sugar and carbs.
Someday I will fish again

Hi Porky

I am a type 2 diabetic an have been for 12 years or so. Let me suggest that you go to a
dietitian and learn the habits you need to know to cope with this problem. With out going into details some of the information here is not correct and some is. American diabetic association has free courses you can attend and if you happen to have Kaiser insurance they have a great course you can attend.

Good luck with your fight you can do it.
