Awesome!

There's some kind of animal that came into the backyard and uprooted huge patches of lawn.  Must be a racoon or possum, bc the place is completely fenced in.  Looked like the work of a wild boar or something.  Too bad it didn't get nabbed by that owl lol

I wonder if that's a small bobcat or a domestic? That owl must be part yakfisher because it's going to have a hell of a time killing that cat kinda like when we nail a hali. Lol :smt044

That owl would be kept busy in my neighborhood, one lady nearby has around a dozen cats alone.   :smt012

It would be easy to kill. Just drop it from 200 feet.  :cat:

That is a Great Horned Owl, those things will eat cats, small dogs, and small mammals. Horned owls are more territorial then say come barn owls.
If you have gopher problems or small rodents then you need barn owls. We put up owl boxes all over our vineyard and each one is full of a nesting barn owl couple. The saying goes with barn owls, if you build it they will come.

Looks like that cat is screwed!! :smt005

We had a badger do the same thing in our field. Check around the fence line for a burrow.

Cool Pic.

Noticed the same thing happened to my lawn couple weeks back.  Came outside and saw patches of grass ripped out everywhere.  A week ago, my backyard lights turned on in the middle of the night so I went to look and saw a possum digging away at mine.  Most likely that sucker doing damage to your lawn.

Awesome picture though!

If the owl does in fact have the cat, it's only got it by one talon, one talon is visable not in the cat.  I don't think the owl will have much luck subduing the cat, unless it drops it from way up.  Once that cat hits the ground, if the owl is still clutching the cat, the cat will turn and unleash it's claws freddy Kruger style, the owl will be shredded, or the cat will vanish.

  Very cool shot though!
