This was an awesome read for me because i also share the same condition. I develop atrial fibrillation when i was 31 years old. I'm now 37 and I've had several procedure done and i now have to wear a pacemaker for the rest of my life. I'm OK with that because life is truly awesome and i know i still have plenty of years to make it worth while. I do get winded easily when i paddle and my PDF rubs on my pacemaker making it uncomfortable but that will not ever stop me from doing what i love.

Thank you Eric for sharing your story and for having a positive attitude.

Eric, thanks for sharing your story. I love the part about Collin's big hug. Here's a toast to a full and speedy recovery  :beer2. I've always enjoyed reading your posts and appreciate the effort you put into Gimme Shelter. I also had a bout with a-fib, and luckily for me it turned out to be minor, but it scares the crap out of you. Ah, stubbornness. It can be good and bad, glad you recognized it, and sought help.
All the best, Jim

Nice story Eric.  Glad you took care of this so successfully.  What a weight lifted from your shoulders.

I don't know what brand of ablation technology you got, but it is stories like yours that energizes me so much about working in the medical device industry.

Eric my friend,  Thanks for sharing and I wish you a rapid and complete recovery.  As Hobie-Dave said, Superman is on the horizon.  I look forward to fishing with you sometime soon.  Maybe even before Shelter Cove?

I've only met you once at gs6 and I was amazed at how you remembered my first name since we only communicated through PM's.  I knew then there is something special about you.  Thanks for you easy going personality and big heart.  I am hoping all will be well with you and the ticker keeps on keeping on like a fine Rolex.

Take good care of yourself bro. With your active lifestyle, who would have thought you were going through something like this. Thanks for sharing this with us all Eric. I'll make sure next time we meet, I'll have a cold Sierra Nevada for you. :smt002

Thanks for sharing this, Eric.  You know you're not alone here, lots of good friends on this site.... even if some of us are down at the other end of the state!   My Dad has afib an has for years, and he's still kicking around Texas! -- And family is everything.  That resonates so deeply.  We will be up in Arcata the week of Thanksgiving -- I certainly hope we can hook up that week, even if it's only for dinner and a "cold one."  Great post from the heart.  -- Dave --  :smt006

Look forward to seeing you next month, Dave.

Thanks very much for the kindness, Guys.

I've shared my personal health info with people at work out of necessity - same thing with some other groups like parents of Collin's soccer team, as I'm the coach.  I do consider those other groups friends that care about me, but it's nothing compared to how I feel for this community.  I felt I had to give a full account here, and I'm glad I did.  Thanks yet again!   :smt001
