Ocean Cove Thurs 10-18??

A friend from So Cal is headed up to fish Tiki this weekend and wants to hit the Ocean for the first time. Thinking OC because the launch is so easy. Any thoughts? Company welcome of course.

I usually hit TC on tuesdays but it was blown out today. So I'll check with the boss and see how she feels about being the school taxi thursday morning. If she's good I'd love to do some pre tourney scouting  .

Never done TC, so I was going with what I know. Now I'm not sure about going because of the swell forecast. NW 8-9' s 1'. A bit big for a newbie I think. Any suggestions far an area to take a new guy out. Actually, 8-9' might take him out.

Crap, the swell is on the rise everywhere....  May still be doable Thur/Friday in SC for some WSB hunting if your interested, but yesterday the swell was half what it's predicting now.  Going to keep an eye on it I guess and hope for the best.

May be interested in that too Al. I think I only have Thurs for the coast.

TC is better as far as access off the beach...but your pre fishing  we know bro...you've won way to much this yr save some for the rest of us   J/K NOT...   Dude I'm in Sacto now lets go get some Bass.....  if you go 110 FOW was the bomb 2 weekends ago!!!  north bout 1/2 mile....but I'm sure you will figure it out.........Have fun and put your friend on fish for his first outing!!!

Hi Rob:  TC is easier than OC.  The swells you can handle unless the wind starts blowing
the tips over and it starts white capping.  Then it's a mess.  It has been my experience that
8-13 mph wind is still a can do.  But 15-20 with the swells is a no go. 

TC has fish all over either north or south.  The deep bite has been off.  For the last two weeks  all my fish came within 80 - 45 fow.   I am going back this weekend, but can't go Thursday.  FYI, on each of my last three trips, I have lost a total of five lings that broke my leaders.  I am using 40lb mono to 60 lb braided.  I am on a mission to get those lings in my kayak.  Good luck to you and your friend.

Alright, the boss can't decide, so here's my plan. I'm goin'! If early, I'll drive up to OC. If late (after drop off), I'll hit TC. I'll post up the final late tonight.

Ok, the wife's doin' the drop off. I'll be at OC @ 6:45.

I'll be there a little bit later. 3.5-4 hour drive. 7-7:30.

Rob - right now the forecast is looking better on Friday than Thursday. I can fish on Friday if you need a wingman. scott
