Took a break from house cleaning and went fishing with Hobie-Dave today.  We're planning to scout the new launch in Napa but when we got there it's low tide so the ramp was muddy and very slippery (ask Dave how slippery it's). :smt003   We decided to go to my back yard and give Salmon, Sturgeon & Striper a shot.  We hung-out at the green buoy a couple hours for nada so I went back to my Striper honey hole while Dave trolled for Salmon along the channel.  After an hour of trolling, Dave joined me at my honey hole and caught a small Striper while I ran out of baits and only caught a couple  bait stealers!   Dave gave me 1 Sardine of the last 2 he got and I cut it into 2 halves for my 2 poles.  Not more than a minute after a cast my second rod, I feel a tap...tap so I set the hook and my rod went bendo.  After a couple good runs I got it on the yak and invited it home for dinner.  Once again, I was happy to catch a “Hail Mary” Striper!

Plan 'A' Green Island Road the launch, at low tide was found to be 'slippery as elephant snot'. Not wanting to do pain nor even to get muddyed-up , moved on to plan 'B'. Benicia provided the nicest day, one could ask for, weather wise. Fishing not so hot. Expected better because the GPS fishing calendar had me expecting "Best Fishing Day". Not complaining it's all good. Really stoked Sonny got to score a fish, this was his first time out on this ride. Dinner main course was gifted fresh striper. So tasty!

You don't need luck for "stripper", just cold cash  :smt005

hey sailfish are you the famous "sonny"that lost your gear while helping the other yakker at gs6 i think?nice fish by the way.
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Hey guys. Congrats on the catch. Sorry to thread jack but I was not aware of a launch on green island rd. i know there was talk of adding one in AMCAN but I did not know they actually opened one. If you do not mind me asking where is the launch on GI road I cannot find it on any DFG maps.

Best,
Phil

Thank you for your kind word.  I've done what any NCKA brothers would do to help each other when needed.

Great save on dinner... about a weeks ago i saw a party boat on my way to work hugging the shoreline by glen cove marina. i was thinking stripers since they were so close and drifting. they were there i think 3 mornings that week. also cuttings wharf boat launch is just a ways up from green island but they have a better launch any.

We launched at Cutting Wharf before.  Dave just found out about this Green Island and want to try it out since it looks very fishy, closer to our homes, nice newly paved parking lot, clean restroom, and no launch fee.   We'll try again soon but need to time the tide to avoid the mud fest  :smt003
