Just got back from my annual live aboard lobster dive trip to Cortez Banks. Unfortunately due to weather conditions we had to go to the Channel Islands instead  :smt012

Caught some Lobster, harvested some rock scallops and uni, speared some sheepshead, cabezone, ocean whitefish and assorted rockfish.

Saw my very first yellowtail under water. It swam by me to check me out unfortunately I only had a Hawaiian sling with me. If he only came a little closer..... :smt003

Hand caught an octopus with about a 2ft wing span and brought it back to the boat for some pictures and laughs. The octopus was released unharmed.

On the last night we put the squid light out and caught some mackerel on sabiki rigs.

A couple of us did it for a few hours while drinking beers and laughing our asses off. :beer3

Had an awesome time with some old and new friends.

I'm sure he has a freezer full of fish and lobster. He is definitely on top of the food chain.

Was SCUBA diving in depths between 40 to 85 feet most of the time. I'm not that good of a free diver yet  :smt003

I also ate a raw rock scallop after shucking and cleaning it 50 ft under water  :smt044 :smt044 talk about fresh sashimi!!!
