Hey Al.  Have you gotten a chance to try out that App yet?  I'm curious if you can live view or stream image from camera to mobile device.

I downloaded the app on my ipad. Unfortunately, it looks like another update on the HD2, wifi backpack and the remote is required. Those updates are a pain. Might do it this weekend.

Updated camera, bacpac, and remote software...finally. A real pain!! Besides trial and error to find a USB port that Cineform likes (even though the camera was powered on  any chosen), sort of hit'n'miss as to getting the notification that the upgrades were successful.

Have to (obviously) change your wifi source on the camera and the phone. Shows a tiny preview of clip that you can click to take up more of the remote screen. Will play with the app more this weekend to see what else the app controls do.

BTW, need to also make sure you have latest version of Cineform.

Thanks for the info Howard. What do you mean by change the wifi source?

Good info guys.  I was thinking of picking up the wifi bacpac this weekend so I would have it for Tiki, but hey I've managed without it this far.  I'll get it soon enough.

Once you get all your software upgraded, you go to your wifi setting on the camera to select phone/ipad(?) and on your phone go to your wifi section and you should see GoPro wifi available.

The remote is very handy. It's worth getting but because it and the bacpac battery have internal batteries, you will only get about 2 hours of actual (not standby) use. And once the bacpac battery runs down, it will suck juice from the camera battery.

Howard can you stream the video from the camera to your ipad/iphone or is it just a crude preview so you can aim you camera.  Originally GoPRo said we would be able to stream the video but after reading the description of the app it didn't sound that way, so maybe there will be another update to the app and everything.

I didn't look that closely. The preview did look static. Will need to shoot another vid to check it out. I have seen a post on a GoPro forum site that someone was streaming video to his computer.

Downloaded the app to my iPhone and iPad. Did the GoPro updates this morning. I'm able to view and control the camera from the app. There is a 3 or 4 second delay on the app viewing screen.
