I need a new suit.
What is the easiest suit for someone to put an and take off by themselves?
It also has to be stretchy. I have acid reflux and if the suit puts too much pressure on my stomach I am a non stop vomit machine. Great chum but makes for zero bottom time.
I would like an integrated hood as well.
I have use a Henderson Goldcore for about the last 8 years or so and it has worked fine. Plenty of stretch, well at least 8 years ago it did.
The integrated hood is key as I will not always have someone to help me tuck in a seperate hood.
Your expertise is gratly appreciated.
Oh yea, I want it for this coming weekend.  :smt044 (if possible)

You're going to put on a freedive suit and wish you'd bought one years ago.

Go to the freedive shop in sac and try a few on.  They all have a different cut, find the one that fits you best.  They're all gonna be 100x's more flexible than the stretchiest scuba suit.

I would buy another one if mine worked fine for 8 years!  :smt002

It doesn't have an integrated hood.

I bought a Picasso about 5 yrs ago it had a coating and was expensive but OMG, the fit and stretch was better than I imagined was possible.  I think I've heard you mention shoulder problems so getting it on and OFF by yourself may be an issue.  Do what Art said.  If I get another similar suit I'll skip the coating and go with lots of lube.

Xcel has an attached hood  with a chest zip if you are looking for a more durable option than a freedive suit, and they are made with Yamamoto 45 neoprene with a slippery internal lining.

I tried a 9/7/6 Xcel Polar Tri Density, and it was a SOB to get in and out of just test fitting ( Polar Quad may be a different story haven't tried that one)

I have used a freedive suit for several years and there is truly no comparison with a scuba type suit. Many solid choices out there. Freedive shop in sac carries several types/brands. Expect to pay +350. Mako has a highly touted suit and it is made from Yamamota neoprene, considered the best stretch of any suit material. The suit is very well made. I just purchased one and received it today and it comes as advertised. On top of the suit price($240 for 7mm)Mako's customer service is unequalled, period. Do not let the low price fool you as this suit is the equal of any freedive suit I've seen or used. It's a stellar suit at a superb price. Mako spearguns.com. Call them and they'll answer any questions. Hope this helps. Shannon

I purchased the Mako early this year, LOVE IT. Never get cold, super stretchy. Once you get your technique down getting out of the jacket, its not an issue at all. Super stretchy stuff.

If you don't want to go the scuba suit route, I don't blame you.  The freedive suits are much more stretchy but much less durable.  I tore the back of the leg out of my Yazbeck hopping off the kayak last month, so be careful getting on and off of the yak.  The Freedive Shop has a good deal on the Cressi for $379.  That is their least expensive suit.  Here is the same suit for $209

The Freedive shop also has the Yazbeck Kelp Stalker for $390

Hope this helps

wow, great deal!
Maybe, you can ask to match the price...?
Best thing about them is they're local & let you try out as much as you want (& nice people too).
The freedive suits definitely need little more TLC, but the comfort is nite & day!
I was thinking about tomorrow after work.
what time (they only open until 5pm)?
If I don't go to Howe today, I will meet you there & have dinner (Squeeze Inn or JR's?)?
Let me know!

I'll never go back to a SCUBA suit now that I have my Yazbeck. Over time I've learned how to take it off by myself without yanking on the tail.
Definitely try a few on.
