Tiki will be a ton of first for me.I have never fished the delta or for strippers or a kayak tourney.  :smt100 Any and all tips and pointers would greatly be appreciated. What should i bring for bait? How should i rig such bait? What size color and type of plugs should I toss? What line lb test?  :smt102 At this point my plan is to anchor up somewhere and soak bait on one rod and toss plugs with another. Thanks in advance and see ya there :smt006

Mike,
Bait options would include Minnows or frozen/fresh Shad.
Lures for casting would include Rat-L-Traps, Hair raisers, Rip baits ... All in Shad colors
Lures for Jigging would include Hopkins Spoons, Lazer minnows, Tubes ... also in shad colors
For trolling, concider 6' minnow lures with larger bills like Rebel DJ3R series.
The fish here to eat Shad so Chrome and Black or Chrome and Blue are always good choices.
This is a basic list that could go on for days, but should get you started. I'm sure many will post with their favorites and the combinations are limitless. Good Luck,

See Ya There,
Eric / Yakhopper

P.S.
Strippers are found in Night Clubs and require a whole different type of bait :smt002

theses are just a few that i throw.if you get some lures like these it should work.they dont have to be the same color or brand just a little bit of guideline.the bass(stripers/large mouth)are chasing bait so any type of shad or minnow pattern should work goodluck
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Swim baits also work well. 4-6 inchers. Pearl is my favorite color.

Good luck! 1/2 oz jig head. Fish traps are a good brand.

If you want to have your best chance of a quality fish, it's pretty basic.  Buy jumbo minnows, use a three way rig, and head out from the launch, make a left and head for the bridge.  Be there at first glimmer of light and just drift the holes under the bridge.  Once the sun is full up, it's pretty much over.  You'll see the veteran Tiki guys there.  It's boring but effective.

I prefer working my ass off for scratch fish so use the above or catch your own bait and drift with the current.

Luhr Jensen Speed Trap Crankbaits in delta red.  This lure is a must have with out a doubt.  We sell forty or fifty the week before a bass tournament up there every year at my local store.  My last four day weekend this produced a 98% of our fish. Stripers and bass.  Get a couple locally but if you can't.
Tackle warehouse has them cheap.
