A while back I had made a post about using an M16 ammo pouch on my SKS as an ammo holder, but I never posted any pics.

Here are some pics.  As you can see the the standard 30 round M16 pouch(important to use the M16 pouch as the m4 straps are to short to go around most stocks) has enough room to hold two 10 round stripper clips for an SKS.  It does not interfere with my  cheek position and gives me the ability to have two extra stripper clips in a pinch.

I know some one is going to ask about the length, the SKS is a short rifle, intended to be a carbine.  By adding a 1 inch butt extender, and a slip on recoil pad I get an extra 2" out of her.  Which for taller shooters is a lot more comfortable, and less expensive then buying another stock.  FYI surplus pouches are cheap at Army surplus stores.  I have also found that my .303 rounds will fit in there, so my next experiment will be trying to fit a load of stripped .303 rounds in it, if that works odds are this will work for a Mosin as well as they both use 5 round stripper clips.
