I'll be taking entries in person at the launch on Saturday during the demos.

What time is the demo?

You guys need to figure out if you are running a bass tourney or a catfish derby or a photo contest. No where in your list of rules does it say no bait live or dead not allowed. Who in hell fishes for catfish with artificials? Besides being lucky.. You might not even need a permit for this event. Its a photogtraphy contest, right?

Craig,

Sorry for the confusion. The event is a fishing tournament with all DFG rules. We contacted DFG to check and they said that if black bass are in the tournament no live bait is allowed. If they find a kayak with live bait they will shut us down. I was instructed that we need to have permits for all the freshwater tournaments when I talked to DFG last year. Once again I am sorry for any inconvenience.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. These are the same rules as Sonoma Slam 1 and 2. Please read the attachment if you have any questions. This tournament is not a "Black Bass" tournament, but Black Bass are one of the species that you can catch and for that reason there is no live bait.

Lets rip some lips off Sunday!

An Event type permit is required if either the number of participants exceeds 50 or the total value of prizes and inducements exceeds $1,000.

Fishing was great on Saturday for me. It was a bit slower on Sunday but guys still caught
fish, including a catfish over 25". Stripers were caught too, I released a 25" and lost another .
I came in 6th.
Weather was unsettled with a good soaker in the morning and sunshine a bit later.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.
