I managed to get a fat crappie after losing a smallie that flip the hook on surface just as I realized I was getting nailed on a gold kastmaster while trolling.

Nobody missed anything today.  I did get a smallie near Long point which is on the otherside of the lake.  Shortly after catching the smaliie and only being in the spit for 10 minutes the wind fan was turned on high and the sheep were marching at me the whole way back with spray in the face.

I am ready to troll the ocean for chrome as soon as this damn fan turns off.    :smt001

Mendo Mayhem top three! Congratulations to:

1st place James Jackson (Salty) 732 points!
2nd place Scott Ellsmore 706 points!
3rd place Chris Cahoon 622 points!

Turned out to be a beautiful day on the water! Drizzle at the launch then it got sunny around mid morning. The group spread from the launch in every direction! Everyone had their secret spot and plan of attack for the tournament! I was surprised to see Scott Bring in a 26 inch catfish off a Roboworm on an ultralite rig!
There was a 27.25 inch stripper and a 24.5 inch stripper caught at the tournament. The winning ticket was to land the big crappie and Salty found the spot!
I was paddling across the lake and saw these massive jumps/splashes and paddled over and had hundreds of massive carp around me. They must have been 20 plus pounds!
The event was a lot of fun with the wind picking up around 2pm and most of the crew was in and resting by then. I am glad to have a day off to recover and start to prepair for Shelter Cove and Sonoma Slam! Hope to see everyone at one of those events, hopefully both :).
