Decided to build my own kayak cart. Hopefully it will due until I can buy a expensive one. Probably gonna paint it. Finally found the pool noodles at sports authority. Thanks for the suggestion!

Looks as though you built yourself a very serviceable cart. WTG.

Be careful strapping it too tight to the yak. I strapped mine a little too tight at the port one day and on the way down the ramp it flexed just enough to break the upright. I started using a bungee so it would flex a little. Now it's Wheeleze all the time.

Don't bother painting it. Put that money towards a Wheeleze.
What you built will work for the meantime, but it will eventually break.
You know what they say. Once you've used Wheeleze you'll never go back.  :smt002

I used a similar cart for a couple of years and it worked ok....then I broke down and got the wheelez for the sand...game over.

Looks sweet. I've been using mine for all 5 outings lol that I've been on. I found I had to glue my pvc together because for some reason it would slip and the whole setup would torque, especially on rough terrain or sand. Caused some pretty embarassing scenes.

Wow, great job! I bet it's much lighter to lift with the PVC pipe. I am now tempted to try and build my own....Where did you find the tires?

Harbor Freight had some on sale, 10" pneumatic for like $6/ea a while ago. Might be worth checking out their sales.

I found some plastic wheels that are wider for the sand. The wheels are off a kids ride on vehicle. No bearings to rust out either.

Harbor Fright is a dangerous place...I always buy more than what I need there, haha. But this gives me a good excuse to go in there again, haha.
