Hey Eric, quick question. I know it's a Striper tournament, but what if the longest Striper is 18" and someone catches a 21" LMB. Will the LMB take it? Just wondering, thanks man.

Jeff, you are referring to Hobie Blue, right?  :smt005 :smt005 :smt005 It's a striper competition so big LMB don't count. All that said, I will target stripers for the first 2 hours but I don't hook up, will switch to LMB. I don't care if they count, I am out there to have fun with my fly rod and feast at the pot luck.  :smt006

Haha! Bryan/HB is for SURE the man at Tiki. I know it's a Striper tourney, but for some reason I thought it might be longest fish. I'm probably wrong, but I think that's how it was two Tiki's ago. See ya at Tiki Scott! Good luck out there if I don't see ya before launch.

Legal stripers first, other longest fish if less than 3 legal stripers are caught.  That's how it was the last two times I was there.  It's Eric's call , of coarse.  With over 100 fisherpeople out there, I'm sure there will be three 18+ inch stripers caught.

I'm not 100% that I'll be there guys.  So, good luck and be safe.

Like I said, target stripers for awhile but if you are not hooking up, switch to LMB, crappie, salmon or bluegilll. it's about having fun, chances of winning are slim.  Live the moment.  :smt003

ATD and Dolly Llama (Linda's nickname courtesy of Fishmaster1) will be in attendance.  I am trying to convince linda to fish.  I have used the old "You bought a license, so it is a waste if you don't use it" argument.  We will see if it worked.

To help clerify a few things,
This is first and formost a fun event so just enjoy
In the event of a shortage of legal Stripers, we will revert to Largemouth Bass.
However, with that said, any legal Striper takes presedence over LMB ... This means a 18" Striper will beat any LMB even if it is a new State Record.
Being as I would never count myself in a event I organize, My plan is simuler to GB2 ..... Give stripers a fair try, if no luck, convert to LMB.
As for Parking, there will be plenty of parking at the bottom of the ramp and in the camping area. Most of the boat owners have left for the season and that should allow more parking.
just don't forget to pay at the box (iron ranger) near the ramp and write "Kayak Group" on the bottom of your pay envelope.

If you haven't yet done so, It will help speed things up if you download the waiver from the signiture line at the bottom of the roll-call. It just helps get you on the water quicker, if the forms are filled out ahead of time.
If you can't download the form, I will have plenty of copies avail. on Sunday morning ... but someone better have coffie :smt003

See Ya There,
eric / Yakhopper
