Myself and a bud are camping at OC. Might launch at SW, never done it.
Anyone know the deal there? I heard you have to cart it to the water, no prob. Is there any parking? Hopefully see ya otw Friday. Mike

If I'm not mistaken you can park and unload at the sharp turn-off at SW then you have to go back and park in the parking lot and take the trail back to the launch. There's also two or three big concrete stairs there.

I fished there a long ass time ago with Mr. Matt, who happened to nail two record sized coppers that day.

I'd join you guys but I'm back at work = no more Fridays for me.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

I launched at Stillwater on 9-17-12 for the first time and thought it was easy, especially if you have help negotiating the few stairs.  There was no channel through the kelp so you have to slog a bit.  Had good luck on the reef to the north.  It is legal to park in the turnout south of the parking lot on Hwy. 1 and take the trail back down to the beach.  I would be up for Timber Cove or Stillwater on Thursday and then watch the weather for Friday at this point.  What do you think?  John

Hey Mike,
I am going to fish TC on Thursday morning & then SW on Friday morning.  Thanks for the NOAA info, really detailed.  I'm waiting for a package of those rainbow trout stick baits of Hogy's that you recommended.  They should be here on Wednesday & we can try those out at SW on Friday.  I'll be rockin' the yellow Hobie and CH 69.  :headbang:
