I just picked up two used 120s, the ones without the rails on the sides and with the rubber lids on the hatches, (not sure of the years these were made anyone help with that?) The fold up backrest seat I see has avail pads that slip over it, but for the seat bottom what do you guys use? Is there a commercial one avail or should I just go with a glue on pad?

The year is te last two digits of the serial number engraved on the rear of the kayak.

If you wear a PFD (highly recommended) the rear pad is really unnecessary. For the bottom the glue on pads work ok. I would recommend a nice one piece seat with a nice padded seat. The back support is beter and youbutt will approve. I use Seairaports seats. They have a few different models. I prefer the Pacific Angler seat. It has the thickest padding, but is also the most expensive. Other seats are available from other sources too. Ask on the forums before you by for honest reviews of seats. Some are good, and some just look good on paper.

I have the same type in my 140 and really like the stock seat setup... I did use this seat ( http://www.altrec.com/nrs/kayak-seat-pad?cm_mmc=Mercent-_-Google+PLA-_-NRS-_-17591&mr:trackingCode=FF3FD538-FC0B-E111-AC9E-001B2163195C&mr:referralID=NA&mr:keyword={keyword}&mr:match={matchtype}&mr:ad=8887039617&mr:adType=pla&mr:filter=21201823497&origin=pla&gclid=CMCy9JvFzrICFShxQgod7woAEA

But due to the cup type seat back (lip) when applied to the kayak, sits right at the tail bone and I had to cut it down to make it comfortable and would NOT recomend this seat. The adhesive is awesome though :smt044 Won't come off.... :smt003

If I can figure a way to get it off :smt005 I'm going to try this one. http://www.outdoorplay.com/Tech-Lift-Kayak-Seat-Pad?utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase&cvsfa=3650&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=333532&gclid=CP7I0pfGzrICFUjhQgod4TMApA

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

You are right about the pad hitting your rear in the wrong place. Just position it up the contour a little more and that will help. Test out where you want it before glueing.

thx guys. Was thinking a glue on type would be the ticket. I do have a good seat for my OK yaks, but didnt think it would fit right, I will have to try it.
