Has anybody replaced their Hobie seat with an aftermarket seat?  I haven't seen any that have the pegs that Hobie seats use to secure them to the yak floor.  I would really like to get something with a little more back support but I'm concerned about the seat portion wiggling around if it isn't secured "Hobie style".

I have the GTS one. NO pegs. Most of the aftermarket ones have straps going fwd AND back so the sliding of the seat bottom isn't an issue.

Eric,
Which model do you have?  It looks like there are several GTS seats available.

i think on youtube rudyakahalibu has a vid that he did of a high back support with the factory hobie seat
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Martin -

Not to get myself deeper into Hobie purgatory but many after-rmarket seats are WAY better than the Hobie seats both in comfort and reliability. I have a STS pro seat which I use on my OK T15, Eddyline Carribean and Hobie AI. The STS pro and expedition are WAY more comfortable than the Hobie seats and don't flip up when you are climbing in in the surf zone. If you don't believe me ask Pat R. An Easy retrofit too.

Thanks guys.  I think a new seat is in my not to distant future.  I tend to spend long days on the water and comfort is something that can use some improvement.  It's too bad the Pro Angler is such a beast to car-top.  That seat looks like a beach chair.  I'm sure I won't be able to replicate that comfort on my Revo but it would be nice to soften the ride as much as possible.

I have a high back and wider seat that I added the seat pegs...works great but reduces your movement a bit too much for me. I have already pm'd Martin .....we just need a way to get it to him. Any one coming up to Sonoma County soon and headed to the Danville area that can shuttle it to him. We also need to get some crab traps delivered to Pat R (not sure of his local) at the same time. Any one from the south/east bay running up this way soon?
