The jighead in that photo.....me want!

The best jigheads I've ever used were megabait jigheads with that shape....they had a wobble that killed.  When megabait went under I hoarded as many as I could and am down to my last one...which doesn't get fished.  If someone has the molds I'd love to get more.

Thanks for taking the time to hook us up with that discount, CWS. I'm sure we'll be sending a lot of business his way.

Those are similar to the sluggos I usually use with great success. I'm ordering some when I get home.  :smt002

Not warheads, megabait chubby shad....the shape of the head imparts action on the drop and a wobble on the retrieve.  Someone really needs to to bring this head back.

Hogy has alot of interesting gear.  I'm really liking those sand eels and the tin squid setup has always appealed to me.  I need to start adding more eastcoast striper techniques to my game.

Hello there,

Mike has introduced me to this community.
I'm happy to see some interest in our different lines of soft baits and rigging.
I will available to address any questions or comments and shed some light on our "east coast" tactics.

Cheers,

Hogy Staff

The Ling below was caught in SE Alaska this August on the 8inch Mega Flounder and 11/0 Drop Shot Rig.

Ross,

Welcome and Thank You for the 10% OFF Coupon Code at Hogy! Not a lot of people have heard of Hogy and this is a great way to intro your product in my opinion.  I can't wait to try those sand dabs. I purchased a 3 pack of the 5", what type of rigging do you suggest in water +/- 90' with a current? Thanks again and nice ling!

agarcia - The company was called Producers who made these and has long gone out of business. I don't know why they made a killer jig head. Hooks seem kinda dull but a long shank which is good. They came in 3oz and 7oz.

I've caught fish using the smaller sand dabs/flounders on a carolina rig. Would like to try a few of the 8" model.

Thanks Mike and Ross for hooking us up.

Your best bet for deep water and heavy current is to utilize a drop shot rig. It's easy to swap out weights depending on the current. As always, go with the lightest possible weight for best action.

Check out a few posts on the technique with soft baits:http://www.hogylures.com/category/products/rigging/jigging-lures/drop-shot/

Over here in SW Florida, We'll commonly fish the Drop Shot/Flounder Combo for grouper. They go nuts over a flatfish.
