After watching kayak fishermen from our boat for years I finally got down on the water to check it out. Under the tutelage of Allen B. I got a great intro to the sport from a fine teacher and fisherman.  Allen not only explained the basic concepts and important safety issues involved with kayaking, he also put us on the fish right off the bat.  Limits of rockies a short paddle off the beach in beautiful Monterey Bay! Now it's time to go shopping for a kayak and gear.  Thanks Allen and NCKA members who provided background info via this forum.

Awwwww.....thanks Nick.  another guy I gotta go fishing with soon.

So brothers and sisters.....Joe lives in Alameda and needs some fishing partners up that way.  He completely knows how to fish for our species already and was completely comfy on the yak.  Get him out there!!

I tried to take gopros yesterday, but had the thing pointed too far up all I got was my rod tip sheesh....but we did get limits of decent RF out front of MBK.  comfy fishing with super light rods and Abu's=  pretty fun!

Allen started out lots of us here including me.  If your trajectory is anything like mine, you will find yourself fishing more than ever, enjoying it more than ever.  Even the skunks!  Oh and your local fish market will wonder why sales are down  :smt002

FYI,
tons of stripers in the delta right now.  Mostly smaller ones up to 3 pounds, but tons of them.  Bigger ones should be in soon.  I caught about 50 last Saturday.  I was in a boat, I haven't got my kayak yet, but I am selling all my other toys so I can get one.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
