This will be my first time back on the water in over 2 months (since Albion) and only the 3rd time since my battle with the bat ray. Still not fully healed, but who gives a $h!t, I need to do some fishing! and maybe some 4wheeling; and if there time, some shooting, then some chilling by the fire... then repeat X2!

If your in the neighborhood (and I know it's a LONG WAY), drop by....

I was there last weekend for 4 days, split the time between there and Bowman.

Lake level was dropping fast, but the fishing was great, the crawdad fishing was also good. We had the whole lower loop of our campground, to ourselves.

Bowman was great a usual. Have fun, look forward to your report.

Unfortunately, that weekend is the opening of the bambi season, so the campgrounds will be PACKED! Hopefully the fishing will remain as good as it was for you; but often its hit and miss when we go around this time...

thanks for the reminder about crawdads... I will have to remember to bring my traps.....

I'm bringing my yak, but with me being the only one paddling... I don't want to be isolated from the fun on shore; so it may not see any water time :smt009.

That's right they mentioned deer season was coming.

On a side note, I left the yak at home, all fishing was done on shore, right at east meadows campground. Morning time was best with non stop action floating crawlers.

Next, Off to Twin Lakes in Bridgeport in 2 weeks!

Cool.... maybe a can airsoft some bears!!! :smt044 then pop'em with my .40 if they get to close...

yeah, I am really leaning towards leaving the yak at home... but then I might miss out on a good bite and regret it.... so I will most likely bring the Mini-X just in case.....

Most of our fishing has been on the west side a few clicks from the damn; but i did really good float tubing in the middle using needle fish, so I really wanted to try trolling with a kayak... but who knows..... I find out what to do when I get there...

Being its the deer opener, the beers shouldn't be too bad. But a wheel'n trip on the deer opener, I would be paddling more and driving less. I will be hunting for bambi, but over near Yuba city/Browns Valley. Be careful where you are out driving there is an area that NO firearms are allowed, not even for non hunters for protection. With all the hunters out, DFG will be out .

lucky for me, I don't drink beer... to don't matter to me had bad it is :smt044

My uncle (the one who gave me the cancer jeep) has a deer tag, I plan to be his chaffuer and use my jeep to go back country; he is very familiar with that area (i hope), so he better know all the restricted areas. I will only be packing for protection...

Also we probably will go back country to hit the more isolate lakes; just not sure if I will fish from shore or by water....

Good luck bro!!! btw: are you taking you new rig to Brown Valley? would be a nice shack down trip....
