We don't acknowledge this all that much on NCKA, understandably because a war far away doesn't affect us too much.

But this stuff in Egypt is a little different.
An ambassador killed is some serious shit. And those "security detail" guys killed also were Navy Seals.

Regardless of your political affiliation, those are our troops who weren't in a war zone, yet gave the ultimate sacrifice.

And ambassadors are peacemakers.  To see and hear of them getting killed is disturbing.

Couldn't agree more. Thanks for bringing this up and I dont view this as a political post, but that of us living in America and those guys all died defending our freedoms.

My prayers and thoughts are with their families

My thoughts and prayers for the fallen Ambassador, the Navy Seals and the others killed.
A consolate and embassy are sovereign ground, and to be recognized as such.  When one
is breached, it is an act of war.  This wasn't about protesting a stupid movie.
God speed and blessings to the Servicemen and women protecting our embassies.

I am sending you out as sheep among wolves.
Be as wary as serpents and gentle as doves.

I agree and am shocked by their killings but have to disagree that Libya isn't a war zone. Everybody and their sister has military weapons, the central government is not fully in charge of much of the country. It is an armed madhouse. That shows how brave and dedicated these guys were for trying to help these people get their crap together and to further the interest of the United States. Brave good people like that are in short supply. The ambassador was a great guy and was from the SF Bay Area.

Why do we not protest the crap in our streets so they can see the Americans can be angry. With out tearing down their embassy. I'm sorry but I'm a little more pissed. In fact I wrote Levi Strauss and let them know I will not be buying their Levi's anymore until they are made in a Unites States friendly nation. I do pray for those lost souls that lost their lives. And I will support them by not buying stuff made in the mid East. I'm in process of seeing where my gas is coming from. I think Valero doesn't use mid east oil. But I'm checking.

IF a Muslim burns a bible, He just wasted good money and who cares. If An American burns a Coran or criticizes Muslims they get to pillage and kill :smt011 I'm really having a hard time not taking a look around me at those who profess to be Islamic or Muslim, not being a threat... First one that gets shot here in anger or retaliation will probably cause mass rioting like they had in England. Might be hard for some to not use that as a sign where to aim :smt067 :smt068 :smt071
We need to hold those people that did this accountable... We need stay calm and watch our actions/hate with our Muslim/Islamic neighbors. They all don't believe this way... We need to be ready to respond here or abroad... God bless those families that have lost in not just this, but in all the mess over there. Unfortunately there will be no end to these acts. it has gone on for 300 years. We are just in the latest chapter of the same holy war that has been raging on and on... We cannot fix this... We cannot change the hate that is taught from birth and a religion that rewards those that do these things with holy hero status. We were the first to use a nuke... I believe they will be the next. Genocide Has been tried before and failed. I believe the only solution is Complete economic and physical withdrawal of all US interests and support. No planes out. Borders closed, shipping stopped.   :smt097 Let them go back to raising goats and killing each other. :smt097
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

These...  "people" grew up under the hand of tyranny.  They don't understand freedom and won't, for at least another generation.  I don't understand what we were thinking when we thought we could bring democracy to them.

What makes it worse is how many BILLIONS we GIVE away to them in aid every year.

Yeah the billions of dollars we sink in those holes totally pisses me off.  Especially when we have such high unemployment here. And a huge deficit.

I agree with pretty much all the sentiments I see here.  The world is going to hell in a handbasket... I just hope to get in a few more good years of fishing before it all comes crashing down.  Wars will never stop... There is way too much profit in it for the people who drive them... and too many fools willing to die for what their religious leaders tell them to believe in.
Never trust a man that doesnt like to fish...
