What's up everyone?

I'm super determined to get my first kayak salmon. Last weekend, I feel like I gave it a really solid try. Conditions were super rough and windy and I didn't even get a tap, but I feel good about it. I presented a nice-looking trolled anchovy to miles and miles of water between Muir and Stinson. My trolling technique is getting dialed in, my arms are feeling strong, and I'm ready to do it again.

I very well may be able to hit the water again this Sunday, and I wanted to put the feelers out to see if anyone else might be interested.

Any interest out there?

The gate opened at about 7:30 last Sat, but I'm working on convincing my girlfriend to drop me at the gate and wait it out :). Just going out on a limb here, but if that happens, I'm sure she wouldn't mind reparking another car or two when the gate opens.

Details to come...

Hmm.... The Bayside Marine "Honest" report says salmon are being caught off the rocks at the SC harbor. That's sure tempting...

The plan is evolving... I think I might get dropped off at Stinson or Bolinas and troll down to Muir. It would be sweet to fish Dux and Muir in one paddle, and with the wind at my back, it seems doable. I feel like I remember reading the trolling with the wind/current is most effective...

It's on! I will be at Muir Beach on Sunday morning. I hope to be at the beach at about 6:30, but that's dependent on convincing my girlfriend to drop me at the gate and wait for them to unlock it. Luckily she loves salmon. :)

Should be a beautiful day. The NOAA point forecast is calling for variable winds less than 5 knot, and the USA Fishing report says salmon are feeding on anchovies right off Muir Beach.  :smt007

I went out there today and got washed around for 4 or 5 hours and didn't get much, a small cab that I let go. Most of the time was spent in the rocky area to the north of Muir Beach. The good news is a few of the commercial guys were strait out from Muir about 1 mile or maybe even less. Friday could be good. I got there too late in the day and had to deal with choppy wet conditions.

Thanks for the heads up. Conditions are looking good for Sunday. I've got high hopes. I'll be trolling and mooching my ass off on Sunday, leaving the rocks as my last resort to take some fish home.
