Here my old Revo set up.  Ram wedge mount inside in the sail post and run wires under the bow hatch.  I built a DIY 12v 8mp battery case from waterproof box from Walmart.  Transducer was gooped inside the hull.  Worked like a charm for 3 years.  Got an AI now, no more Revo and sure miss it.
No holes drilled!!

+1 on Jim's setup.  Mine is also installed on my left side with a Ram mount inside of the mesh pocket.  The pocket can still be used and the screen and buttons are close enough for me to see and use without reaching.  I drilled a hole for the wires and used a rubber grommet with goop to seal the opening.  My battery is in a Hobie dry bag that's strapped to the mast receiver under the front hatch.  The only problem I'm having is battery life.  I have an 8 amp hour sealed lead acid battery and can't get a full day's fishing with my Garmin color FF.  As soon as the battery discharges a little (6-7 hours use) I get all kinds of weird screen messages and screen freezes.  As soon as the battery is charged, everything works great. I guess I'm gonna need a bigger battery.

Martin - I use a Cabelas 12v 8amp for my Lowrance 5 Elite Color FF/GPS combo.  I'd had it on over 12 hours and still going.

My battery is less than a year old.  It's a Werker brand battery that I got at a battery specialty store in Dublin.  When I put it on the charger, it doesn't seem to have much of a discharge but the FF seems to need the full strength to work.  I originally tried to operate the FF with 8 double AAs but it wouldn't even light up.  I know there are bigger batteries available but I hate the thought of "bigger and heavier" in my front hatch.

Thanks Jim, Tote, FishingAddict and everyone else for your feedback. I don't think my arms are long enough to reach the buttons for the sail mast install which I think is a great way to install, no holes for sure,  but like Al I'm afraid I may end up using my toes  :smt044, but then again I have short legs too so I would just have to press it with butt end of my gaff lol. I really wanted to stay away from drilling but I like the option of using the wire mesh bag and drilling so that the FF is closer, crosses fingers of no rudder line cutting. Jim can you put up a picture or send me for a visual? Thanks a bunch!

Yeah, the 1" RAM ball mount would be my choice for the FF mount too.

Just gotta love the versatility of a RAM mount.  Price point of them still has room to drop, however.

Steph, here are some pictures. I bought the little grey cap to cover the unused connection on the back of the FF, & also the black rubber plug to cover the end of the cables when they are unplugged, at Home Depot. Had to drill out a hole into the black rubber plug to seat the cable end inside.

When I drilled thru the hull I only drilled the hole large enough to get the cable thru. I decided I didn't need the screw-on nut & just left it slid down into the hull so I didn't have to make a larger hole. I thought about drilling the hole in the pocket but I throw way too many leadheads, hooks, etc in there and didn't want to risk damaging the cables. jim
