What do you eat at 4:00 am the morning of a tournament? Times tight, you're in a hurry, it's cold and wet, you're living in a tent and you have to get gear ready. You have to eat something to get you through till the afternoon. I usually slam peanut butter on whole grain with a banana, washed down with a cup of Columbias finest. Next year I plan to use instant coffee so I can make oatmeal with the hot water. A little brown sugar, cream and fruit and it's on. I was just curious what others do for a tournament breakfast?.  :cook
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

I usually just get a subway sandwhich or pizza then just snacks the rest of the day. More time for fishing

I am not a bfast guy...so it's just some coffee. Once I hit the water I have a bag of trail mix, jerky, and a cliff bar and some Gatorade. If I am driving to the launch I have time for a yogurt.

Hopefully I remembered to bring blueberry muffins.
Chow 1 or 2 of those with some water, pop a 5 hour energy drink and I'm ready to hit the water.
I used to drink coffee but soon after I had to pee (or worse) so now I'm a big fan of the 5 hour thing.
OTW I bring 2 bottles of water, 2-4 kellogs strawberry or raspberry cheesecake granola bars and an apple or banana. PB&J too if I planned well the night before.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I have a lot of gels, powerbars and cafeinated chewies that i can pound. Usually though im not looking to eat a whole lot the morning of an early launch, specially if im at a campsite.  For me, bfast usually triggers a gastrocolic reflex, inducing an AM dump.  But its not instaneous.  And having to catch and release a boneless brown trout while OTW can be seriously inconvenient and gross lol.  Never tried, never want to either.

So often ill skip solid bfast for super early launches, and just stick to caloric and caffeinated fluids.  Espc so if ive eaten a huge dinner night before.

When im leaving from home and have ready access to a clean throne witthout too much time constraint, then all bets are off.  Im woofing salted jalapeno prawns, pizza, Costco rotisserie chicken, ding dongs, whatever.  Usually wash it down with a defizzed cola and a huge glass of water, gotta stay hydrated

A cup of coffee left over from the day before and heated up with the defrost cycle on the dash and 2 cigarettes.  At 4am that's all I can handle.  I keep Slim Jim style sticks with me or some hard salami.  If I remember to pick up when I buy the smokes, a can of SPAM and another of oysters.  Somewhere in the truck is a box of Cheez-it crackers too.

The little woman refuses to buy these supplies for me and gags at any of the items mentioned if she catches a whiff of them.  Especially the SPAM.....

If I'm camping: Pop Tarts and instant coffee (if I'm making it), or Naoaki's coffee if he hasn't launched yet! :smt044

Drive thru fare otherwise :smt005

This.  Pretty much every morning situation where it would be inconvenient, not just fishing.
